Tuskegee Airmen

Who can think of our military heroes without thinking of the dedicated and inspirational Tuskegee Airmen? Their courage, bravery, and achievements serve as a shining example- to people of all ages and backgrounds – of what can be accomplished in the face of adversity and challenge. Ford is a major sponsor of the Tuskegee Airmen and the Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum. In 2007, Ford sponsored the celebratory reception when the Tuskegee Airmen received the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor in our nation’s Capital.

The generous grant from the Ford Motor Company Fund has allowed the Tuskegee Airmen National Museum to mentor, inspire and teach hundreds of youth in the career fields of aviation and aerospace science for more than twenty years. The grants have allowed the purchase of intriguing STEM materials as well as airplane rides and flight lessons. Grants from Ford Motor Company Fund have preserved Tuskegee Airmen artifacts as well as created new exhibits to tell the history of the Tuskegee Airmen for generations to come. Without this funding, the history and the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen is at risk of being lost and forgotten. Thank you Ford Fund for all you do to preserve the fabric of our community."
