Ford Freedom Award


A fundraiser for the Charles H. Wright African American History Museum, the Ford Freedom Award program celebrates the achievements of African Americans and those who are carrying on their legacies. Over the 20 year history of the program, icons such as Jackie Robinson, Dr. Dorothy Height, Langston Hughes and Congressman John Lewis have been recognized for their contributions. Ford Freedom's educational initiatives have reached hundreds of thousands of students and awarded more than $200,000 has been award to 4th-8th graders in scholarships.


Ford Freedom Award celebrated heroes in our community. Without an expectation of recognition or reward, the Ford Freedom Honorees have made our world a better place as they would express-doing what they knew was right.
