Ford 1st Gen
Studies have shown that students who take part in mentoring and coaching services are 10-15% more likely to advance in college. Further, additional studies report that first-generation students participating in living and learning programs were more successful academically and had better social transitions.
The Ford1stGen program provides opportunities and identifies resources to ensure that any enrolled first-generation student at a given HBCU will graduate and have the skills to excel in their chosen profession. Mentors, housing, social opportunities and access to academic support are provided to student participants for successful matriculation toward graduation.
